The President of the Central Council of Jews in Germany, Mr Schuster, has warned against radical political forces trivialising the Holocaust.

At a commemorative event in Frankfurt am Main to mark the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz extermination camp, Schuster also explicitly warned against the AfD. The view of Auschwitz must not change in essence. Otherwise, the Federal Republic would not do justice to its founding idea and historical responsibility.

In Frankfurt, Federal Chancellor Scholz also spoke out in favour of active remembrance of the Holocaust.
